Advanced Confidence Course
This clinic is designed for the rider that wants to challenge themself. The focus is seeing how little we can do to get the desired response. Students will work on themselves and how they present information to their horse. There is a morning session focused on horsemanship, followed by an afternoon session practicing our horsemanship using the obstacles.
We will spend an hour on the ground in the morning but quickly transition to working under saddle. This is a riding clinic with obstacles, including more difficult obstacles. We won’t spend time working our horses on the ground through the obstacles. We will troubleshoot from the saddle when our horse experiences new and scary situations. We will also spend some time working on identifying where our horse’s feet are.
This clinic is designed to be fun, but also to challenge the horseman. This is the first year I have offered this class and it will be growing and evolving throughout the 2023 season.
Sara has a solid horsemanship foundation that she continues to build on. This with her compassionate understanding of the human struggle makes for a sound learning experience that is constructive and fun. We all struggle with ego if we admit it or not. These courses help us where we are today and our horses mirror exactly where that is. No matter the discipline or experience these courses help us translate fear and uncertainty to trust and the confidence to then investigate and move on while building a relationship. Our horses deserve more and gaining tools to experience the unknown while developing an ability to cope and move on. This is about communication rather than trying to put every scary thing out there and letting them ‘get used to it’ because tomorrow is a new day!
